Emerging into life, entering into death.
The followers of life, three in ten; the followers of death, three in ten; those whose lives are moved toward the realm of death, also three in ten.
Why is this so?
Because they cling to life, they cling to it excessively.
It is said that one who is skilled in preserving life can walk on land without encountering rhinoceroses or tigers, can enter battle without being harmed by weapons. The rhinoceros finds no place to thrust its horn, the tiger finds no place to sink its claws, and weapons find no place to pierce.
Why is this so?
Because it has no place of death.
