Chapter 48
IndexThe sage has no fixed mind; he takes the mind of the people as his own.
To those who are good, I am good; to those who are not good, I am also good. This is the goodness of virtue.
To those who are trustworthy, I trust them; to those who are not trustworthy, I also trust them. This is the trust of virtue.
The sage, in the world, blends their heart with the world's. The common people all focus their ears and eyes on the sage, who treats them all as children.
