If you wish to contract something, you must first allow it to expand. If you wish to weaken something, you must first allow it to strengthen. If you wish to abolish something, you must first allow it to flourish. If you wish to take from something, you must first give to it.
This is called subtle illumination.
The soft and yielding overcomes the hard and forceful.
Fish cannot be removed from the deep waters; the state's sharp instruments should not be displayed to the people.
