Chapter 72
IndexCourage in daring leads to death; courage in not daring leads to life.
Of these two, one may be beneficial, the other harmful.
What Heaven abhors, who can know the reason?
Therefore, even the sage finds it difficult.
The Way of Heaven: it does not contend, yet skillfully prevails; it does not speak, yet skillfully responds; it is not summoned, yet it comes of itself; it appears relaxed, yet skillfully plans.
The net of Heaven is vast and wide, with large meshes, yet nothing slips through.
