Chapter 55
Those who know do not speak; those who speak do not know.
Block the openings, close the gates; blunt the sharpness, untangle the divisions; soften the glare, merge with the dust — this is called Mysterious Unity.
Therefore, one cannot be drawn close, nor pushed away; cannot be benefited, nor harmed; cannot be ennobled, nor debased.
Therefore, such a one is treasured by all under Heaven.
